Our self catering accommodation in Northumberland is the perfect location for a country retreat in an area that is renowned for its beauty and rich wildlife. From our homely base in the cottages you can explore the national park, nearby towns, the Northumberland coast and the Borders. We have a range of 6 holiday cottages and log cabins available from the 5* Byre Cottage to our lovely log cabins such as Pine Lodge.

Our Holiday Cottages

Our holiday cottages; Byre Cottage, Coquet Cottage, Reivers Cottage, Cheviot Cottage, Pheasant Lodge and Pine Lodge are located in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Coquet on the boarders of the beautiful Northumberland National Park. Our position near Cragside, Rothbury, Alnwick and Hadrian's Wall, along with the likes of Bamburgh, Berwick, Craster, Holy Island and Seahouses on Northumberland's Heritage Coast, cannot be improved on for a family holiday in Northumberland. The holiday cottages lie opposite to Harbottle Forest and the surrounding area is home to an abudance of British wildlife including red squirrels, otters and black lizards. Situated in a perfect location for wildlife that make their homes within rural forests or around rivers and waterways. The wildlife in the areas around the cottages is one of the most rich and varied in the whole of England. We are also situated inside the Northumberland Dark Sky Park, the largest Dark Sky Park in Europe and home to the darkest skies in England. This makes it the perfect location for viewing of the night sky and a fantastic holiday destination for anyone interested in astronomy or stargazing.

  • Byre Cottage - 5* Luxury Cottage

    Byre cottage has been officially classified as a 5 star property. Byre cottage is a very spacious barn conversion that has recently had a major refurbishment. Powered by solar panels and a heat source pump, Byre Cottage uses 100% green energy.

    It has been lovingly restored and now provides a stylish and comfortable holiday retreat for up to 6 people in 3 double bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, including a wet room. Furnished and equipped to an impeccable standard Byre cottage has an extremely large Living area and a very large kitchen and dining area that has all appliances incorporated.

    Coquet Cottage

    Coquet cottage has lots of character; it is over 200 year old and also has a lot of unique features. This cottage has a double room with all the original beams. The twin room has a reading area, and views onto the Coquet River. There is a large separate dining area, which can also sleep 2. Coquet's living room hosts a lovely open log fire, with a chesterfield suit. The garden also looks out onto the hills and the Coquet River

    Coquet Cottage has been extensively improved with solid wooden worktops and Belfast sinks inside a beautifully fitted kitchen. It comes with under floor heating that covers both the living area and the kitchen.

    Cheviot Cottage

    Cheviot Cottage is a slightly more modern cottage, with a large family kitchen and laundry room. It hosts a large sitting room with a dining area. Cheviot has a double fitted bedroom with a quaint little box seat in the window, where you can retire with your favourite drink and look out onto the river.

    There is perfect baby room, equip with everything you need for your little one and there is a large twin room and a toilet upstairs, as well as a bathroom downstairs. The garden area is very private with garden furniture and views all around of the hills and river bank. You can hear the river running while you sit outside.

  • Pine Lodge

    This beautiful log cabin is new to our complex. Pine Lodge is beautifully furnished and very modern; it has a double room and a twin room and has a real Scandinavian feel to it.

    Pine Lodge has a fully fitted kitchen area with the living room opening out onto a decked sitting area.

    Reiver's Lodge

    If you're looking for accommodation for four people in Northumberland, then why not book the Reivers Cottage, a Scandinavian log cabin that is warm and cosy whatever the season.

    This cottage consists of a lounge/diner with wood burning stove, colour TV and video/DVD. There is also a kitchen area with electric cooker, fridge and microwave, along with use of the laundry area. Sleeping facilities are a double bedroom and an adult bunk room. There is also bathroom/WC.

    Pheasant Lodge

    Pheasant Lodge is a new real solid wood log cabin built with oak windows and doors double glazed and fully fitted out to a high standard this is the ultimate in log cabin comfort.

    Pheasant Lodge faces Harbottle forest and is on the banks of the river Coquet. Pheasant Lodge sleeps 3, one double room and one single room, with its own private garden and parking spaces. Pheasant Lodge provides stunning views of Harbottle Forest and the Coquet Valley.
